SPIDEY WEEK~ PAGES 11, 12, & 13

More layout pages followed by tight pencil work.
That's Captain Stacy as Mysterio, with Gwen
Stacy playing the Black Cat. If you haven't
figured it out by now, this whole Nightmare
sequence casts all of Peter's loved ones as
his most dangerous, hated Enemies~!

  1. Lysdexicuss: I've really enjoyed this week. In this post, I liked the rough and finished pages together for comparison. I always thought Mysterio was super cool, and your dialogue for him in that first rough page is perfect! Also, you are drawing Spidey from many hard angles and doing a great job with each. This was all part of an original story, right? -- Mykal

  2. Thanx Mykal. Actually, that dialog in the margin of the 1st page was me scrawling out possible dialog for the REAL villain of this story: NIGHTMARE (who appeared mainly in Ditko's Dr. Strange). The concept & story is original. I wish now that I'd finished the dang thing because I still think it has a lot of potential~!

  3. Ambitious, fascinating, and captivating!
Many thoughtfully planned out sequences! For example, I love the sequence where Mysterio's globe shatters!

Your style is quite different from the Marvel 'house' style, which isn't a bad thing! While your take on Spidey and friends is very cool, I can't wait to see more of your stories featuring your own characters. Your brilliance shouldn't be hampered by someone elses creation/limitations, that is, the imaginary restrictions imposed by previously created 'models', or the expectation to conform to someone elses notions of how the characters should look.
You are too good to be 'boxed' in by that.
