This other side has a macabre Undead
Gypsy Fortune Teller on it, which I
can't recall came before or after:
Hi Jamie!! I kinda remember the Fortune Teller drawing. It rings a bell. But I definitely think that my doodles came first, solely because I don't think I would have allowed myself to doodle on the back of one of your presentably inked (or non-inked) pieces.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right Erik. Interesting that the paper was folded in HALF when you drew on it. Maybe I drew this one during a sleep-over @ yer house & took it home with me. Man ! I used to love inking with them pilot-point pens. Couldn't do it now. Gotta be bold-tipped or brush; my eyes can't take it !
ReplyDeleteThose pilot-point pens were pretty cool. You're referring to that set I had, right? It went from ultra-fine point to thick-point (the set where India ink had to be put into each separate cartridge). I remember those fine-point pens always got clogged (paper stuck in the hollow tip) and I always had to try to unclog them by using that fine needle-like wire in each hollow point. I think I ended up preferring those different-sized "nibs" that you could insert into those plastic holders. Those had to be cleared of paper-fibers regularly, too, but I think they were more reliable/durable. How long has it been since you've gotten your eyes checked? Do you use glasses at all? I haven't seen you in so long that I just cannot recall.
ReplyDeleteActually I was referring to the disposable Pilot-Point pens, an indelible felt-tip, super-fine. My eyes could be worse considering my career as a welder; but, I only wear glasses while driving at night. Someday maybe laser-surgery to sharpen the vision. It is what it is: AGE !
ReplyDeleteYou only wear glasses while driving at night! That's pretty good!! I've been wearing glasses full-time for several years now. I first got glasses back when we first met, before I moved back to Brazil. These were just for reading. And it remained that way for years and years. Then I ended up using them for more and more things, and now I hardly ever take them off. I miss the days when I could drive to school without them -- I would just put on a pair of sunglasses -- and them put on the glasses only after I arrived at school. I could also read stuff without my eyes hurting too much. Now even my sunglasses have a prescription. It's kind of like, once you start down the eyeglass path, you end up being more and more dependant on them. Actually, I can still see pretty good close-up without glasses. I really need them for distance.
