Anyone have a 15ft X 5ft SCANNER I can borrow...?
All I have of this MURAL are the following slide photos.
The piece of art was already damaged a bit by this point
of its existence due to abuse & neglect, lying around in
musty crawl spaces, cramped overheated attics, and in
cluster-mucked basements over by the cat litter box.
It measure approximately 13ft X 3.5ft, four panels of
thick paper literally taped together on the reverse
side. It's title ? Oh~ that was the EASY part~! It
came before a single sketch was ever made:
THE PROCESSION OF IGNORANT BLISS
INTO THE VALLEY OF TEMPTATION
???????????????????????????????????
Yup~!
You see, some people have crying jags~ but I
had just experienced a Carl Jung Jag~ in which
I gobbled up over half of his Bollingen Press books,
covering a myriad of topics, but in GENERAL, always
revolving around MAN & HIS SYMBOLS, DREAMS
& RECOLLECTIONS, with an occasional UFO tossed
in to liven things up. Although I have never been that
'religious' per se, I've always been a spiritual SEEKER.
Something about this idea of Archetypes & Symbols
struck a major chord within, resonating through my
funny bones all the way up to gray matters in my
blobulous brain. So, I sat and thought... with more
than a few 40 ouncers and, with a little pot luck,
stewed just enough to brew up the following
characters to represent the more dominant
voices in my head...
And, from left to right, they trample over
a slumbering giant, whose bears an uncanny
likeness to a certain Dreamer of Self-Knowledge~!
