CAT BIKE, A WORKING SCULPTURE, PART ONE




A Tourist took these pics after I let them try to ride my notorious Cat Bike, The Black Pussy. They did not believe it possible as it is quite awkward and weighs a ton. Bike theft is a big problem here so this design eliminates that possibility as a Sober person finds it a challenge to ride or lift, so shall a Drunkard Thief find it beyond reasonable. 

The bike has actually fallen on hard times and gone through several changes since its creation 7 years ago. Tomorrow, pics of it when she was a svelt Chopper Bike ;~j

    I envy your sculpting skills. I have more than enough trouble working in 2 dimensions, and you seem to leap back and forth so nimbly.

    Seriously, though; I've always felt hand-eye-coordination carried over into any other endeavor. Welding is like sewing. The spontaneity in yer work would be a perfect fit for junk art ! I spent two weeks training our local HairDresser to weld so she could make a present for her Boyfriend (a Surf-Board rack for his Bike !) Her skills with scissors etc. transferred beautifully into mig-welding.
