Hi Jamie, I noticed a lot of your latest dream posts are on tan paper. There is a new visual/material look that unites them. Are these from the 3rd volume of your Dream Journals? Or are they culled from an in-between phase?
These tan paper drawings were done simultaneous with Journals 1 & 2, on blank pages ripped out of an old ledger found in the trash outside the historical society library. I used up every page eventually; I think they measure 16 x 14, something weird/off-kilter from todays standard sheet dimensions. As always~ great observation !!
Ah, I now (vaguely, very vaguely) remember hearing (from you) about this ledger! The word "ledger" rings a bell. This was from when we were all still in Philly, of course.
I've been thinking about this ledger today, and I am convinced that I have seen it. You had it when we lived on Lombard, I'm sure of it! But did you have it when we lived at The Morris?
Yep; found it when we lived in the Morris, but really started to use it @ Lombard. I wrote alot of Poetry in it @ 1st~ with brush & ink~ then used blank pages for drawing. Later, I used the hardbound cover as a frame for the photo of me Ma getting kissed by Frankenstein !
Is there a chance we were together when you found this ledger? I remember us walking the streets, late at night, searching for stuff on the curbs...because at that time, I was seeking wooden boards/planks to use for my woodcutting prints.
Aaaahh, that sounds like an awesome evening! One of those garden-variety (for that specific time and place) kinds of nights I'd love to re-live! We logged a lot of miles on all that asphalt and concrete!

ReplyDeleteVery possible; this ledger was gotten down near the Ritz movie theater @ Penn's Landing. We may even have gone to see a flick !
