  1. It's hilarious seeing these drawings on school assignments. I think you and I would have gotten along well together back in the day.

  3. I have something awesome for you...

This is 45ft tall King Kong (and that fay ray in his hands in truly person-sized) statue located in the woods outside Eureka Springs, AR in what is now a defunct "Dino World" which had its heyday in the 70s. This place was a drive-thru dinosaur park basically. The idea was really close to that of the first Jurassic Park, only all the dinosaurs are life size-yet made of concrete and painted. So I discovered it, like most people do, completely accidentally. I was just driving around on a really pretty road for the heck of it and all the sudden a T-rex, then a triceratops, and one of those long neck dinosaurs heads popped out over the tree line...I was like WTF!!!!

So of course I had to investigate. It is closed to the public now and some of the dinosaurs (there are hundreds) have been taken and the residents of Eureka (its kind of an artsy community) take them and use them as lawn decor! hahah...

Anyways so now every year I go up there, park my car across the street behind some trees, and then walk right up through there *trying to be* all incognito and just play around and take pictures because no one who hasn't been there believes its real lol.

wow that was almost a whole blog post...sry for the length :P

  4. Mae~ that is a great pic & in conjuction with the backstory made me laugh & smile. We live in a strange & wonderful universe that opens up at times and shares some of its secrets. Thanx for paying it forward. (you can write a Novel-Length comment if the spirit moves you !)
