HATMAN & HOPI~ DAILY STRIP #18

  1. Lysdexicuss: Coming on board late here, but this is some of your most entertaining stuff. Love the panel layouts. All very unique and sort of trippy. Very cool and relaxed linework. Pen?

Love the new avatar, by the way - She sure likes the head perch, doesn't she?

  2. Mykal: always better late than never ! I was using dip pen-tips @ this time (now prefer sable brush & sharpies to tag-team comic art). Spunka rides around on my shoulders all over the place, and keeps my lap warm the rest of the time. She sleeps on my chest like a Sea-Hag ! So funny.

Bad Jerome is still my screensaver~ staring at Mr. Cool playing with that rat !

  3. Lysdexicuss: I think Bad Jerome is very envious of Mr. Cool's freewheeling (outdoor) lifestyle. I live in an apartment complex, so he doesn't get outside much. I used to let him wander around on my second-story balcony, but one day I saw him climbing up a palm tree to get my attention. He had jumped to the ground, realized quickly he'd bitten off more than he could chew (I assume), and climbed back up a nearby palm. I saw him clinging to the side of the palm; looking in my big, sliding windows with a "little help?" look on his face. By the time I got downstairs, he was back on the ground awaiting an escort back inside.

That's really nice nib work on the comics.

  4. Bad Jerome is one smart fellow to realize what his boundaries are. I know & see other animals that get in BIG trouble or disappear when they explore beyond their comfort zones. I preach all the time for Pet owners to make sure their loved ones wear collars for this reason. My Neighbor got lucky when his young Kitty stowed away inside a UPS truck and caught a free ride three neighborhoods away. She showed up on a mutual friend's dock a week later ! Who knows what she was eating along the way~ but she survived and is now a grateful lap-cat~!

  5. Bad Jerome has always been pretty smart. He was originally a homeless cat, and I adopted him. In his case, I think he is just so grateful to have a home, he never wants to risk street life again. Every now and then he sprints out my open door, but always stops about 5 paces out and turns and sits or flops on his back, like "Well, you gonna come get me or what?" Still, I think I might get him micro-chipped after the tree episode.

That's a great story about your neighbor's cat. Talk about biting off more than you can chew!

  6. These should be collected and published! In addition to here... They are excellent. Intelligent, quirky, and good fun!

  7. Nice Buzzard shadow work! I was at the Dairy Queen last week and I got all excited when I saw BUZZARD on the menu. Then I became heart-broken when I reread it and realized it really just said BLIZZARD.

  8. Apoco-Wurl: I would probably redo the whole series, bolder inks, better word-balloons, slightly different improved dialog...

KW: That's classic ! I love how~ the older we get~ the worse our hearing & vision get~ the sicker it reveals our minds to be~! Or, if you wanna put a positive spin on it: Space abhors a vacuum, and we are so creative to stuff that hole !
