FORTUNA WEEK 2O12, A & B

This year, there are 6 cards with the
same theme: Film-Making ! Here
are sides A & B, with the original
art for side A. As usual, things
do not always look as good
shrunken down as they
do full-size, so I had to
re-letter to clarify.

3 WISE MEN

Pastel for my Grandparents done in
1990; simple in concept & execution.
I was a smoker @ the time and literally
used a pack of Camel cigs as reference
for the animals here. This piece became
a night light, left on in a hallway, up
until my Grandparents passed away
and it was inherited by my folks...
who shoved it behind the water
heater in the basement, adding
cobwebs to the story...

GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS PAST, 1945

Pop-Pop in the Phillipines,
World War II. Minimalist
Art-Department did a nice
job considering the crappy
conditions. Would love to
have seen the dark-room
they set up to process
film of homesick G.I.s

SITT'N ON SANTA'S LAP !

Here I am, little Lysdexicuss,
circa 1972. I would be asking
him for a few Mego Super-Hero
dolls, of course. And maybe a
shiny yellow Tonka !

Next up on the lap, early 1990's,
my Niece & Nephew, with Power
Rangers, Ninja Turtles, and an
American Girl Doll on their
minds.

TWAS THE NITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, COVER PAGE ONE

For the next 12 nights until X-Mas
Eve I will be posting an Original
Interpretation of this Classic Tale.
If you are an Animal Lover (or just
an Animal !), this may be of some
interest. The Main Character is
a loose rendition of my own
Pop; the Granma character
is in no way representative
of my Ma ! (disclaimer
necessary !!) So here
we go~ with the
cover & page
one:

HOMEMADE X-MAS CARDS, CAN U SUPPLY A PUNCHLINE ?!

Could not find the original
punchline to the homemade
Christmas card directly
below... It was short &
sweet, I think, hand-
written inside each
cardstock print.
Can you think up
a funny punchline
for it ? I will post EVERY
response and even illustrate
imagery if required. Thanx !

Now this next card I found in
my dusty ol' box of artistic
endeavors does have a
punchline~ which~
though a tad abstract,
appears more applicable
here in 2o11 than when I
busted it out in the Mid-
1990's !! The hand-written
message was only in this
particular copy, which
was returned to sender
(me) because Louis
DeAngelis moved
to a different
apartment !
Otherwise
I would have
no record and/or
zero recollection
of this X-Mas offering:

SITTING WITH SANTA CLAUS...

Busy archiving the Family's old
photos, I came across these two
of my Sister sitting with Ol' Saint
Nick on two separate occasions
in the early 1960's...
