DESIGNING FURNITURE PHASE~!

Here is a link to the following 'chair', as it went from paper
concept, to realized hunka junky steel, recycled functional
sculpture. It even had a cup holder built into the metal
drawing board that flips up from where it hangs on
the side. I like altering creations in the moment.
never sticking to an original thought. but
allowing it to evolve during the process.

  1. I'm really digging all this insight into your many outlets. It all looks like good fun.

  2. Your comment made me laugh...

One of my 'real' jobs, ala bread & butter, is working for an Electrician. Last week I met a girl who didn't know what a receptacle was. I showed her and asked what she called it. She answered (as if i was stupid): "It's a PLUG ~!"

I told her most people called it an outlet.

She said: "Oh, you mean like a hobby ?!"

  3. Lysdexicuss: Marry that girl immediately!

At first glance, the insomniac chair looks a tad medieval, but on closer inspection it looks very comfy. Also, I am not sure you know this, but it would be perfect for asthma sufferers. Often, folks with asthma can't sleep lying down, as it makes the symptoms far worse. They often have to sleep sitting up in a chair. Your chair would be perfect!

  4. If you weren't doing the electrician job you'd be a derned good design engineer.

Do you ever worry the police will invade your home and think that's some torture device? Then when you explain what it really is they say SUUUURRREEE....

  5. Mykal: Unfortunately, that Girl is long gone~! I will file the asthma info into my memory banks. I knew if i waited long enough today I would learn something new~! (in the nick of time)

KW: Unfortunately, that chair doesn't exist anymore (scrap-heaped)...

Fortunately, I just busted out a new welding project on the sly~ a kayak CART~ for one of our local Law Enforcement Officers~! (which will be posted here this weekend) So, I hope I am in their good graces for a while ;~j
