THE WAVE, LARGE CANVAS PAINTING

Not what it used to be... this
painting hung inside my Motor
Home (the Green Machine) for
the past decade, as a window
blind, and was the last item
salvaged from the vehicle
before its final voyage to
the scrap yard. It is just
another attempt to
capture the Wave
archetype dream,
but on a scale
designed to
intimidate...

  1. Ha! No wonder he's dropping his shovel.
From the look on his face and the shadow coming over him I'd say the wave about to hit the beach is a bit bigger than expected! Interesting take that "the wave" is off 'camera' and our POV is that of the wave itself! (if I'm interpreting it correctly...if not, hey, it's art, I makes my own interpretations, i does)
You continue to impress me with your creativity.

  2. yes, this is a reverse angle shot. there is another side to this painting, which used to hang from fish-eye bolts from the ceiling, so you could walk around it~ to see the MONSTROUS WAVE rising up 10 stories tall about to smash the innocent child (dreamer).

  3. This really makes me happy. I like the idea of a 2 sided painting. You could hang it in the middle of a room with a frame that worked both ways.

  4. it hung in my brother's basement for many years before it became shades in my motorhome; it was cool because it separated the ping-pong table from the dartboard, & you walked around it either side to transition one game to the next.
